Der Scutt (Oct. 17, 1934-March 14, 2010)
Der Scutt’s impressive collection spans from the 17th to the 20th century, and features an abundant assortment of ship models including frigates, clippers, schooners, sloops, whalers, with a particularly extensive focus on ocean liners, in addition to antiques, drawings, books, posters, and other maritime artifacts. Mr. Scutt spent most of his life working as renowned architect in New York City and is most celebrated for designing such famed skyscrapers as One Astor Plaza and Trump Tower. His architectural style was modernist and often incorporated mirrored glass.
